Summary

[edit]
Description After fabrication, SCC and conventional beams were transported to the construction site as part of an FHWA, Highways for LIFE supported South Carolina DOT project to replace four consecutive structurally deficient bridges. Construction of the Black River bridges’ substructures then began in April 2008. After the beams were set, the contractor placed the formwork and plates for the bridge deck. Phase 1 was constructing two-thirds of the width of the new bridges next to the existing bridges.
