An artistic theatre occupies a large por-tion of the building, the rest being planned for stores,offices and Ining quarters. In the basement, in ad-dition to the boiler room and other mechanical spaces,is a restaurant, together with accommodation forother places of amusement. The ground floor isdevoted to stores on the two main fronts as well asentrances to the theatre. The second and third CONSTRUCTION floors are arranged for commercial sample rooms forwholesalers and jobbers, while the fourth and fifthfloors are planned in two and three-room living suites.The new Hudsons Bay Store building stands sixstories above the street and one below. Creamglazed terra cotta decorates the entire frontage, ex-cepting a narrow granite base running beneath thefirst story show windows.
