Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Wall mailbox belonging to the French post office in Constantinople being removed at the time the foreign Capitulations were abrogated. Turkey unilaterally abolished the Capitulations and foreign post offices in 1914 but they were reestablished at the end of WWI, to be definitively abrogated in 1923. Therefore, the undated photograph was either taken in 1914 or (more likely) in 1923.
