DescriptionConsol Theater, seen from the camp (173176714).jpg | The Consol Theater is located in what once was a ventilation building for the Consolidation coal mine in Gelsenkirchen (building on the right). In August 1863 seven single trade unions combined their coal mines under the name Consolidation. From 1872 to 1876 Consolidation was the largest Zeche at the Ruhr. The mine was shut down in 1993 and the buildings adapted to a theater and cultural centre in 2001. Source: www.consoltheater.de (in German). |
