Conjunto Aristos building complex at Avenida Insurgentes Sur 421 (1959-1961), by architect José Luis Benlliure who also designed the relief sculpture at the main entrance shown here.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Avenida Insurgentes Sur 421 in Mexico City, on the edge of the Hipódromo neighborhood, built 1959-1961. Designed by architect José Luis Benlliure and considered his masterpiece, it was an example of mid-twentieth century architecture that reconciled Modern architecture with applied art. This view shows the lower Insurgentes Sur facade with a bas-relief with a Greek myth theme showing a boat and a horse and chariot and is also credited to Benlliure. It is sculpted in the same Oaxacan stone used throughout the complex.
