Français : Coniston se situe à 8 miles à l'est de Sudburry. L'usine a été construite par la Mond Nickel Company, pour succéder à la fonderie de la mine Victoria. Elle consiste en un départment d'agglomération, contenant 2 chaînes d'agglomération droites de type Dwight Lloyd, un parc de grillage d'une capacité de 120 000 tonnes, un département de fusion avec 4 hauts fourneraux modernes de 5 par 240 pouces de section, et un département d'affinage avec 4 convertisseurs basiques Pierce-Smith de 25 pieds de longs et 10 pieds de diamètres.
English: Coniston lies 8 mile east of Sudburry. The plant has be built by the Mond Nickel Company in 1912, to replace the Victoria Mine Smelter. It consists of a Sintering Department, containing two Dwight Lloyd straight line sintering machines, a Roast yard of 120,000 tons capacity, a Smelting Department with Four modern 5 by 240 inch blast furnaces and a Converting Department with four Pierce-Smith basic converters 25 ft 10 in. long by 10 ft in diameter. |
