Summary
[edit]DescriptionConisbrough Castle Keep - geograph.org.uk - 523031.jpg |
English: Conisbrough Castle Keep This cylindrical-shaped keep was built about 1180. It had fallen into some disrepair even by Henry VIII's time, so in the later Civil War, it was not defended, and thus did not suffer damage, as many other castles did. It remained largely unused for several centuries, but came into public ownership during the 20th century, and is now owned by English Heritage. |
