| Description |
English: The only known fallen Confederate soldiers in modern-day Arizona boundaries are buried at Dragoon Springs in southern Arizona. The 4 soldiers were killed in a skirmish with Apaches in 1862, near a then-abandoned mail station.
Then men were said to have been hastily buried on site, each under a rock memorial. We imagined that the impossibly hard ground was not going to give way easily to a shovel. December 27, 2009 |
