This photo was inspired by a winning idea by Yoshitaka Nakamura for an AIDS awareness poster competition where Mr. Nakamura had put a condom on a gun to go with the slogan "There is no such thing as safe sex". The image here is meant to convey the message that sex (the condom) is dangerous (the gun). Images of condoms on guns are not limited to Mr. Yoshitaka Nakamura, so I hope that this is generic enough to allow my taking a photo of a condom on a gun too. I have written to Mr. Nakamura to ask for permission to use a photo of a condom on a gun. The famous American photographer Terry Richardson also took a photo of a condom on a gun. The response was that I must credit the committee and printers that printed the poster as follows 「国立大学法人保健管理施設協議会エイズ感染症特別委員会およびカマル社によるポスターデザインをインスパイアした」 Not withstanding the restraints placed upon the use of this image by my inspiration for the image (they want you to include the Japanese above), my creative input is available on a cc licence. |
