Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Concrete remains in Newlands Plantation, New Forest This large concrete pipe has been set vertically in the top of a bronze-age bowl barrow's mound, something to do with the military activity on Ibsley Common during the Second World War. At the time of its installation it would have been surrounded by open heath, with good views over R.A.F. Ibsley in the Avon valley below. It is now surrounded by the conifers of Newlands Plantation.
