Description
English: Costume design for New Orleans Mardi Gras parade of the "Mistick Krewe of Comus", 1873, by Charles Briton.

Theme for the parade was "Missing Links", a satire of Charles Darwin's writings, with prominent people caricatured as animals. This design caricatures Algernon Badger, Chief of the Metropolitan Police of New Orleans, as a bloodhound.
