Description |
English: The compass was found on a rubbish tip in Mortlake by the contributor's brother. The name on the compass was C.C.V. Taylor and he was a lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery.
The contributor has researched the name and information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission indicated that he was born in Australia in 1891, he died in Jerusalem on Dec. 26th 1917 and his full name is Charles Christopher Vassel Taylor. He joined up in 1914 with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. |
