Summary
[edit]DescriptionCommon Myna (Acridotheres tristis)-2014-07-11-.jpg |
English: The Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis) in Miami, Florida, USA. It is a member of the starling family. The Common Myna is readily identified by the brown body, black hooded head and the bare yellow patch behind the eye. The bill and legs are bright yellow. There is a white patch on the outer primaries wings and the wing lining on the underside is white. It can be found almost everywhere, with their raucous cawing. We call them "funny walkers" because of their awkward gait on land. They are an introduced exotic that has become problematic in Australia and Hawaii as elsewhere.
