Summary
[edit]DescriptionCommercial Bank Building 1874.jpg |
English: The Florentine-style Commercial Bank Building, later the Consolidated National Bank, was originally designed by William Lacy in 1874 as a two-story building. In 1888 architects Comstock and Trotsche added the top two floors. The San Diego Library occupied the second floor in 1882, and by 1901 the building had become City Hall, a designation that ended in 1938 when City Hall moved and left the building in disrepair. The Commercial Bank Building was one of the first in the Gaslamp Quarter to be renovated and restored to its former appearance. |
