Description
English: Commemorative oak trees, Peebles These two oak trees were planted in Hay Lodge Park on the 6th November 2009 to commemorate the town's sons the Chambers brothers, William and Robert, who founded the publishing company of W & R Chambers. They mark the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Chambers Institution, a handsome building on the High Street which now houses council offices, a library and, in its courtyard, the Peebles War Memorial.
