English: Comiston Wellhouse Building housing Edinburgh's first piped water supply, originally dating from 1674. Various springs in the vicinity were collected here and piped by gravity to the Royal Mile. The Wellhouse eventually fell out of use with the development of Edinburgh to the south. |
