Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The first comet Metcalf (periodic comet 23P/Brorsen-Metcalf) photographed on 3 September 1919 by William Henry in Brooklyn, New York. The comet is the hazy mass at the centre of the photo and the stars are slightly trailed due to the exposure time. At that time the comet was visible in field glass or low power telescope.
