Title
Columbus Hot Air Balloon Festival
Description
A view of various hot air balloons participating in the Columbus Hot Air Balloon Festival. The red balloon on the left contains advertising for Pontiac, and the Garfield balloon in the bottom right corner was sponsored by the Columbus Dispatch. The festival was scheduled from July 12-20, 1986 at Bolton Field, but was plagued with bad weather. The festival featured about 85 hot air balloonists as well as food, entertainment, an arts and crafts fair and what was billed as "The World's Largest Tent Sale" in tents taller than Bolton Field's tower. The Bolton Field control tower can be seen in the bottom left corner. See also: Columbus Dispatch, July 22, 1986, pages A-1 and D-1.
