"For my sister, Mrs Logan May this photograph remind her of none but happy days passed with each other in the old 'Home Circle' and be the harbinger of Brighter Days coming. Killed at Glasgow Ky by ex-fed - eral soldiers in 1866. aged 32. Ever your Affectionate Brother C. A. Peddicord. Captain Independent Scouts, 'Morgan's Cav' Confederate States Army Formerly [?] 2n Tenn Inf - 'Sumner Grays' " (written on reverse side).
