English: North side of 2700 block of 13th Street in Columbus, Nebraska. The block is part of the Columbus Commercial Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. To the left of the lightpole is the southeast corner of the Executive Building at 2716 13th St, built in 1935. The Picket Fence Cafe occupies two buildings: the Prieb Paint Store at 2714 13th St, and the Boyd & Son Tin Shop at 2712 13th St. Both of these buildings were constructed ca. 1914. The low building at the right edge of the picture is the C. J. Garlow building at 2710 13th St, built ca. 1927. Behind it is the four-story Evans Hotel at 1354 27th Ave, built in 1913. The two buildings comprising the Picket Fence Cafe are non-contributing properties to the Historic District; the other buildings pictured are contributing properties. |
