Description
English: North side of 2500 block of 12th Street in Columbus, Nebraska. The block is part of the Columbus Commercial Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The blue-and-white striped building at right is the former Brown Saloon at 2510-2512 12th Street, built ca. 1902. To the left of it, with the white-on-black "Midwest Glass Service" sign, is the former Home Restaurant at 2514 12th Street, also built ca. 1902. Further to the left, with a faded "Back Door" sign, is the former Farmers Union Central Business Association building at 2516 12th St., built ca. 1927. The leftmost building is the former First National Bank building at 1251 26th Avenue, built in 1882. The last two of these (2516 and 1251) are contributing properties in the Historic District; the first two (2510-2512 and 2514) are non-contributing properties.
