Description

Rome, summer 2005

A view of the Colosseum taken from the inside. It is an amazing piece of archtecture. From my readings I understand the Romans even had a canopy that they could roll out over the roof on rainy days. Considering the size of the place, an amazing feat. The size of it and the shape remind me of a modern football field, but there the resemblance ends. It is literally honeycombed with spaces, up top for the spectators, and below for the men and animals who fought there.
