| Description |
English: Colonnades, Madeira Drive Madeira Drive was built in 1872 and follows the beach below former cliffs. The colonnades were added between 1890-97 and stretch from the Aquarium to Duke's Mound, the walk underneath them is known as Madeira Walk and above them as Madeira Terrace. They also give a grandstand effect allowing spectators to view events from Marine Parade, out of shot above, or the middle terrace. |
