Adossée à la célèbre maison Pfister, la maison zum Kragen (9 rue des marchands) date de la fin du 16e siècle. Construite en pans de bois, elle comporte un petit détail assez intéressant : un poteau d’angle habité par une statue de bois polychrome. Elle représente un drapier en tenue d’époque s’appuyant sur une aune. Le bonhomme barbu n’a pas toujours habité la rue des marchands : il provient en fait d’une maison de la rue Berthe Molly. De plus, ne vous fiez pas à l’inscription au-dessus de la porte : « Zum Kragen 1419 ». Car la maison que vous avez devant vous ne date pas de 1419. « En 1584, la maison était vide, sans doute par suite d’abandon et le 27 mai 1586, elle finit par s’écrouler… ».
