Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Collections of the National Maritime Museum, London
English: German celestial globe, about 1725: This globe and its terrestrial pair were made in Germany in the 18th century. It shows the 48 so-called "Ptolomaic constellations", as well as eight newer constellations in teh southern hemisphere. Evidence of mistakes in the cartography suggests that it was not made by an astronomer.
