Nederlands: Foto 'Chinese begrafenisstoet van de op 4 februari 1921 overleden majoor Tjong A Fie, Kesawan' Tjong A Fie (1860-1921) , Majoor der Chinezen in Medan, was een geliefd weldoener die in Medan maar ook ver daarbuiten een groot aanzien genoot. Vanuit maatschappelijke betrokkenheid gebruikte hij het kapitaal dat hij had verdiend met zijn in de handel groot geworden imperium niet alleen om verschillende grote stadsontwikkelingsprojecten te steunen, hij hielp hen die het nodig hadden ongeacht ras of geloof en hij de eerste plantage-eigenaar de zijn arbeiders een winstdeling uitkeerde. Toen Tjong A Fie in februari 1921 overleed bewezen de inwoners van Medan hem massaal de eer: langs de kilometers lange route van de stad naar de begraafplaats bewezen zij hem de laatste eer. Tjong A Fie bezat een landhuis in Poelau Brayan dat in de jaren 1970 is afgebroken, zijn graf is daar nog wel. bron: Plomp,M.
