English: Collar (France), late 17th century
Description
English: Long narrow scarf or collar of Point de France with elaborate floral and scroll designs in a symmetrical arrangement with figures of people scattered throughout. Figures include a woman with a long staff and a fan, boys with baskets of fruit on their heads and dolphins. The design is arranged so that the woman's figure is in the center in a medallion frame. From the center point, on the left and right, design motifs descend in an arrangement vertical with the length. Commonly called "Point de France"
