DescriptionCollapsed CNT peapod TEM3.jpg | TEM image of (A) a double-walled collapsed carbon nanotube (CCNT) reinflated by C60 insertion. The image is a combination of three TEM images along the length of the tube and shows a high degree of filling. The arrows in the upper image show the parts of the C60/CCNT where there are gaps between C60 molecules. This section of the tube possesses a larger width, indicating that tube was collapsed before C60 insertion. The inset in (A) shows high magnification image of the middle part (shown by rectangle). Higher magnification images of the right side of the tube (B) before and (C) after tilting the tube by 20° around the tube axis. Scale bars: 10 nm. |
