Legendary illustration of the Baptism of Clovis: Saint Remi, bishop of Rheims, puts his hand on Clovis' head saying "Courbe la tête fier Sicambre..." (Curves the head proud Sicambre... ) while a dove brings the Holy Chrism, making this baptism the founding act of royalty: Henceforth, all the kings of France will be consecrated in Rheims
Depicted people Saint Rémi, bishop of Reims, deacons, Clovis, Saint Clotilde, some of the 3,000 soldiers who would have followed the example of their king, the dove bringing the holy chrism
