English: Cold Kitchen Hill The site of one of the earliest settlements in the area. On the right of the photo is a long barrow, over 100yds long. Wiltshire County Council believe the name Cold Kitchen is possibly celtic meaning Hill of the Wizard, or it maybe a name given after the settlement here was abandoned (hence the cold kitchen). Further information can be found at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/community/getcom.php?id=143 |
