Colchester derivative hinged BOW BROOCH |
||
Description |
English: Copper alloy brooch fragment, Colchester derivative hinged type. Upper half only, missing most of pin. Iron hinge bar. Wings have a single groove at terminals. The bow is flat-backed with squared sides and convex face. The face has a longitudinal fluted moulding along the edges but the middle area is corroded; it is also possible that there is a transverse moulding at about a third of the way along the bow but this area is extremely damaged. Slight traces of white metal on the wings. Width 28mm surviving length 23mm. |
