English: Copper alloy

Brooch. Fragment of a simple Colchester Brooch. Cast brooch comprising a four coil spring with chord retained by forward pointing hook, small plain wings and upper part of a bow of facetted or bevelled oval section; part of pin survives; bent at spring. Suggested date: Early Roman, 40-60.

Length: 34.3mm, Width (at spring): 15.7mm, Thickness (bow): 3.3mm, Weight: 5.53gms.
