Title
Colchester Brooch, Late Iron Age - Early ROman
Description
English: Late Iron Age /Roman brooch: the bow from a Colchester fibula brooch, retaining a short section of crossbar, and the pin for securing the spring chord. The spring itself, pin and catchplate are now lost. The entire object has been straightened out and flattened (perhaps due to post-depositional deformation under the plough). It has a brown patina, typical of brooches of this date.
