| Description | Colas Rails class 66 (JT42CWR) number 66849 (previously 66576) named "Wylam Dilly" after the second oldest surviving railway locomotive painted in Colas Rail Yellow and Orange livery with 6L37 10:30 Hoo Junction Yard to Whitmoor Yard having been diverted from its usual route at short notice so running via Maidstone West instead of via North Kent. Photographed here passing through Ravensbourne railway station at speed in heavy rain (although only the drivers windscreen wiper appears to be working/switched on) at 12:33 on 3 January 2014. The diversion of this train may have been due to work rebuilding Gravesend railway station increasing the amount of freight passing along the Medway Valley line. The wagons are DB Schenker (ex EWS) owned MHA and MTA's 'Coalfish' leased to Network Rail. 66576 was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, London, Ontario, Canada in 2004 and unloaded from a Heavy Lift Ship at Newport Docks on 19 April 2004. |
