Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cockshutts Lock at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire The West Coast main line crosses the Trent and Mersey Canal here about five hundred metres north-west of Stoke-on-Trent station. This lock is the second up of the flight of five deep locks which drop the canal by fifty feet from its summit level at Etruria. I remember some fifteen years or so ago when this bridge was freshly painted. It looked really smart. What a pity the idiots of this world don't like that.
