Description
English: Coat of arms of Nicaragua (1854)
Español: Escudo de Nicaragua, señalado por medio del decreto del 21 de abril de 1854
Arto. 1- Las armas de la República serán las siguientes: entre un círculo orlado interiormente con dos ramas de laurel aparecerá un volcán; bañada su base por ambos mares. En la parte superior de éste, se colocará una corona cívica en que se leerán estas palabras: “Libertad, Orden, Trabajo”. Alrededor del círculo se escribirá “REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA”.
Arto. 2- El Gran Sello de la Nación, el de la Secretaría del Congreso, el de los Ministros del Gobierno llevarán siempre las mismas armas.
Arto. 3- Este blasón se colocará en todas las oficinas y edificios públicos.
