Zbudowany jest on na tarczy z elementami kartusza, która podzielona jest poziomo, w pas. Górna jej część jest natomiast podzielona w słup. Górny pas tarczy herbowej zawiera symbole (znaki) Światowych Dni Młodzieży. W pierwszej części znajduje się, umieszony na czerwonej tynkturze, złoty krzyż łaciński – krzyż Światowych Dni Młodzieży, z widoczną na nim tabliczką. W drugim zaś rogu górnego pasa na złotym polu widnieje wyobrażenie Matki Bożej z Dzieciątkiem, pochodzące z ikony „Salus Populi Romani” („Ocalenie Ludu Rzymskiego”).

Dolny pas tarczy herbowej wypełniają dwie nachodzące na siebie złote litery „A” i „Ω”, pierwsza i ostatnia litera alfabetu greckiego.

Srebrna szarfa z dewizą biskupiego posługiwania stanowi komentarz i wskazówkę do symboliki zawartej na tarczy herbowej bp. Grzegorza Suchodolskiego. Wypisane są tam czarnymi literami słowa: „Iesum Christum praedicare” („Głosić Jezusa Chrystusa”).
