Description
English: Evening in the coastal pine forest (Pinus sylvestris) with the Narvik mountains in the background. The mountains to the right (Fagernesfjellet above Narvik town) reach up to 1,272 meters /4,173 ft above sea level, still with snow fields. The peak to the left is Tøtta (1,234 m/ 4049 ft). Seaweed in the Ofotfjord can be seen low in image. There is also aspen (Populus tremula) to the right in the image, and birch (Betula pubescens) down to the left near the fjord. 27.July 2008 at 22:10 in the evening. Evenes municipality, Nordland county, Norway; while mountains are in Narvik. This is 220 km inside the Arctic Circle.
