| Description | This tall tree is a coast redwood, Seqouia sempervirens. A sign beside it said it was planted as a seedling in 1934, the same year my father was born. These are the tallest trees on Earth and can live 1200 to 1800 years or longer. It is an endangered species, due to being heavily logged since 1850. |
