English: Fireman Apprentice Brandon Cummings, the newest member to report aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba, and Cadet Sarah Scheaffer lay a wreath during the remembrance ceremony, aboard the cutter, June 13, 2010. Since the commissioning of the current Escanaba, every year on the anniversary, the crew would gather for a remembrance of the first Escanaba and the commanding officer would contact Mr. Ray O'Malley and report that the crew is healthy, the ship is in excellent condition and the 'Spirit Lives On' until his passing on March 8, 2007.
