Photograph of a Coahuilla Indian policeman and his daughter, Pala, California, ca.1900-1905. He sits with his hands on his lap. He has a large mustache and looks to his left. He wears a fine straw hat with a ribbon around the side, and a uniform with stripes long the collar, front and around the cuffs. His young daughter stands behind him to his right. Her right hand is partially hidden inside the front of her striped dress. The thatched wall of a dwelling(?) is immediately behind them.
