Summary

[edit]
Description Figure 4. Co-localization of ezrin and actin filaments of cytoskeleton in the endometrial tissue from control and recurrent pregnancy loss women. (A) Immunofluorescence staining of endometrial tissue from CTR women. Scale bar is 20 µm (B) Immunofluorescence staining of endometrial tissue from RPL women. Endometrial tissue was fixed, permeabilized, and doubly stained with anti-phosphorylated ezrin antibody (rhodamine, red) and FITC-phalloidin (green) antibodies and analyzed by confocal fluorescence microscopy. Nucleus staining was performed with DAPI. Images clearly show a decreased expression of ezrin. Scale bar is 20 µm. (C) Quantitative analysis of the images obtained from confocal microscopy (Nikon A1 MP) with the FIJI software. Fluorescence levels were calculated in CTR and RPL tissue. The quantification of fluorescence signal from confocal images showed a significantly reduced expression of ezrin in RPL tissue as compared with control, with a 5-fold decrease of protein expression (* p < 0.05). The results are representative of 10 separate experiments. CTR: control women; RPL: recurrent pregnancy loss women.
