Summary

Description

The plot shows a set of precise measurements of the intensity of the cosmic microwave background (colored points) compared to a perfect blackbody curve (thin black line). Colors indicate the measurement techniques. The data are in excellent agreement with a blackbody curve over nearly 4 decades in frequency and more than 5 orders of magnitude in intensity.

This graph image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Cmb intensity.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
