Summary
[edit]DescriptionClyde Navigation Trust Boundary Cross - geograph.org.uk - 1077854.jpg |
English: Clyde Navigation Trust Boundary Cross. This structure on the shore stands about 500 metres south-east of Cardross railway station; it is about twenty feet high, and, as its name suggests, it marked the limit of the jurisdiction of the Clyde Navigation Trust. (A line of such markers crosses the River Clyde, heading towards Newark Castle; see http://www.secretscotland.org.uk/index.php/Secrets/ClydeNavigationTrustBoundary for a description at SecretScotland.) See 1587144 for another view. A fallen marker post, similar, but with a slightly different design, lies about 280 metres away, accessible only at low tide: 1587207
In the background, Port Glasgow is visible on the far side of the Clyde. |
