Description

Major General James Birdseye McPherson, born near Clyde, 1828, was killed in action July 22, 1864, Battle of Atlanta, Civil War. This monument (Louis Rebisso, sculptor) was erected over his grave by veterans of his command, the Army of Tennessee, and dedicated 1881.
