Summary
[edit]DescriptionClockmill Lane railway bridge - geograph.org.uk - 1725145.jpg |
English: Clockmill Lane railway bridge In 1818, the Lane was cut in two by the new London Road which replaced the old road to Haddington that runs alongside the Queen's Park. It was further altered around 1845 to accommodate the new North British railway line, creating a Z-bend under the bridge which can be dangerous for faster-moving modern traffic. Drivers coming from either side sound their horns on approach, making this normally tranquil spot a little noisy from time to time. |
