| Description |
English: Clocking Out Machine, Pen-y-ghent Cafe. The famous clocking out, and in, machine inside the Pen-y-ghent Cafe, Horton in Ribblesdale. Walkers attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks can clock out here, and then clock back in when they return. This provides a record of the day for the walker and is also a valuable safety feature in case of mis-haps. If a walker does not clock back in, the cafe will endeavour to contact the person, and if it is considered necessary, they will contact the emergency services. Anyone wishing to use the clocking system other than at weekends must book in advance - Tel: 01729 860333. See also 427697 |
