Clinton D. Firestone (11/12/1848-2/22/1914) was born in Stark County, Ohio. He came to Columbus in 1870 and became engaged in the manufacture of vehicles. In 1876, he founded the Columbus Buggy Company. His cousin, Harvey S. Firestone, worked for a time for the Columbus Buggy Company before founding the Firestone Rubber and Tire Company. Clinton also served as president of the Columbus Board of Trade in 1889. His first wife was Florence "Flora" Taft. His second wife was Florence Hill Knight. |
