Williams says it may affect one or both breasts, and mayor may not be accompanied by malformation of the chest-wall,muscles, or genital organs. According to Orth, it is more common on theright than on the left side. Delbet (op. ciL) says that breasts may remain seemingly normal untilpuberty, and then fail to develop on one or on both sides. Puech is citedby Delbet as suggesting that small breasts may be associated with aninfantile uterus. Cases of this sort are recorded by Virchow, Xegrcer, andRokitansky.
