| Description |
English: Cliffs East of Whitby In this photograph, you can see the Oil Shale cliffs which are capped by Sandstone, the Sandstone is overhanging, the Oil Shale is quite friable and is being eroded by the sea, this causes the Sandstone to be undercut or undermined, shortly the Sandstone will fail and crack and this section of cliff will fall into the sea. |
